Resilience Framework Helps Secure Supply Chain

A leading manufacturing company faced an electronic component crisis with shortages and supply chain disruptions, leaving €1 billion in cash unsecured. The Path-to-Resilience framework secured supplies from critical suppliers. We worked in five maturity dimensions: managing disruptions, aligning needs, foreseeing demand, and strengthening supply.

Avoiding Losses During A Global Crisis

We supported a European Automotive OEM in navigating a complex supply chain crisis, triggered by COVID-19 and a global shortage of semiconductors and other raw materials. By establishing transparency and an early warning system for component supply, we avoided financial losses that could have resulted in potential plant shutdowns due to disruptions in the supply chain.

New Supply Chain Model Improves Performance

A prominent wind turbine manufacturer’s supply chain had become increasingly complex in recent years. This complexity, coupled with a series of external shock, led to disruptions, uncertain lead times, and rising costs. We developed a new supply chain operating model that prioritized resilience while meeting cost, quality, and in-time delivery performance goals.

Warehouse Optimization Reduces Cycle Time

Rapid growth pushed a leading furniture retailer beyond its capabilities, leading to severe issues, including a port container backlog, and missing items. We optimized the warehouse management system to automatically allocate returns and introduced scanners into the depots. As a result, order cycle time was reduced by 35% while picking accuracy jumped from 70% to 95%.

Building Resilient Structure Achieved 100% Delivery Rate

We supported an automotive supplier of electronic components in establishing and operationalizing a supply shortage management team. We built resilient structures that significantly improved their supply capability towards their customers. Despite ongoing shortages, the program led to a 100% delivery rate.
