Edwin is a partner in Oliver Wyman’s Banking and Financial Services practice, bringing nearly 30 years of experience across modeling, research, financial markets, and risk.
His work focuses on climate, real estate, and insurance, with a particular emphasis on helping financial institutions understand how long-term risks can affect portfolios, capital, strategy, and financial stability.

Edwin began his career in academia, earning a PhD in accelerator physics from Cornell University before joining the faculty and teaching on topics ranging from climate change to arms control. He later moved into finance, serving as director of Multifamily Modeling at Freddie Mac and holding risk and real estate roles at Bank of America. He also led analysis for Western Asset Management’s advisory business, helping insurance regulators assess complex risks.
His interest in climate risk grew from the intersection of his scientific background, financial markets experience, and longstanding interest in the natural world.
At Oliver Wyman, Edwin was an early contributor to the firm’s climate work, including its collaboration with the United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative on implementing the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures.
